Spring workshops at Graye's Greenhouse and Bella Terra Flower Farm

As things began to open up, and after I was fully vaccinated, I was so excited to finally be able to teach in-person classes again! We had the most incredible hosts for the classes, Graye’s Greenhouse, and Bella Terra Flower Farm Studio. The highlights are below.

Graye’s Greenhouse

The students arrived at the greenhouse as the sun began to set and were able to wander through the jungle wonderland and choose a plant that they wanted to paint, and then to take home. We spent the next two hours touching on the history of the art of botanical painting, and the learning how to sketch and paint our plants. The atmosphere was nothing short of magical, and everyone learned something about their new plant while painting and enjoying conversation with their neighbors. Photos by Kari Paine.

The Studio at Bella Terra Flower Farm

On a warm Midwestern Friday evening, we sat in the beautiful studio at Bella Terra Flower Farm and painted peonies picked from the garden of one of the students . As we painted, we watched the sky turn colors as a storm moved through and cooled things down. Everyone was having such a good time, they stayed past the end time and continued to work on their paintings.
