Spring in the Garden, 2021 Edition

With spring getting weirder, and predictably unpredictable, I muddled through the dance of moving hundreds of plants in to the dining room at night and out into the garden to harden off during the day for weeks and weeks (and weeks.) But eventually the nighttime temperatures climbed, and stayed, above freezing and the cool weather plants went out, followed a few weeks later by the more tender seedlings.

The spring perennials came on strong, and beautiful, but were gone as quickly as they appeared as the midsummer heat squashed the spring temperatures, keeping everything a bit confused. The summer vegetable garden and the annual cut flower gardens are coming on strong now, and fingers crossed things continue to go well! Below are some highlights of the garden so far.
