Fancy, Pansy Toast

If you know me very well, or if you have been following along here or on instagram, you know how much I love edible flowers. So this week was pretty magical as my first pansies started to bloom! I planted six varieties, I think--and wow are they gorgeous! I will eat them on nearly anything, from fancy cookies, to salads and cocktails, and of course you remember the pickled redbuds and lilac sugar and honey from the past couple of weeks.

To celebrate the first pansies, I paired them with my favorite first meal from the garden, which is always radishes on buttered toast. I thinned my radishes this morning, and of course ate them! I put them on a beautiful piece bread, one with butter, the other with chèvre, and sprinkled them with flower petals and salt.
