re-Treat yourself, your mother, your best friend, or maybe your recent grad? Spend a day on a beautiful farm relaxing, learning, and nourishing yourself.
The Art of Food is offered for the first time by a trio of women who are passionate about nourishment of the body, mind, and spirit through creativity, nutrition, movement, and connection to soil.
Carole Caplan is the owner of The Farm on Jennings, which evolved from a need to be nourished and nourish others in body, mind, and spirit. Carole grows food, flowers, and herbs, and sharing the farm with others brings her great joy! She is also a certified yoga instructor,and will lead us in a class in the beautiful, windowed room overlooking the farm. You will have the opportunity to walk the farm and enjoy the fruits—and flowers—of Carole’s labor.
Liza Baker is a holistic health coach and professionally trained chef who understands that true nourishment is about the food—and much more than the food. Liza will lead us through a discussion and an exercise that will set you on a path to nourishing yourself deeply on every level. You’ll leave with a roadmap to achieving your highest health and wellbeing and the resources to redraw it as needed in the future.
Cara Cummings is an artist, gardener, and storyteller who has been deeply involved in supporting farms, growing food, and being inspired by whatever is growing in her garden—or someone else’s! Cara will bring the art and science of food and farming to life through conversation, demonstration, and painting instruction. You will spend the afternoon choosing your model, playing with watercolor, and creating a piece of botanical art to take home (along with some fun art supplies).
This retreat is open to everyone 16 and over. No previous experience with yoga, farming/gardening, or art required—all skill levels welcome!
