Wood: Wood pieces are hand carved--each piece can take up to several hours to make. I cut the basic shape out with a bandsaw, and then carve rest of the curves and bowls using a variety of hand tools. The next step in the process is to sand them, and sand them, and then sand them some more--then I dunk them in boiling water to raise the grain several more times. For the final step I soak each piece in mineral oil and do a final rub with bees wax.
Paintings: The description of each watercolor painting can be found by clicking on the image.
Workshops: I offer workshops on photography--mostly food and farm photography, and on botanical illustration. Check the store or workshop pages for more information. If you are interested in hosting a workshop at your farm, garden, or other space, please contact me here.
